We are looking for an application engineer with a background in electronics engineering and preferably integrated IC design with an interest in audio / class-D applications.
It is the job of the application team to design audio applications/implementations with the controller and power ICs made at MPS Axign, to support design-ins at customers. Tasks include control loop design, Matlab/Simulink simulations, PCB design, design of DSP code/algorithms, design of new software functions for the class-D amplifier, implementation of new power stages (integrated or discrete H-bridges). Secondary tasks include: automating measurement setups and support of other teams by e.g. building measurement setups and helping them with validation measurements on a new IC; EMC optimization of an MPS Axign based amplifier.

To be part of this team, you should have good insight in analog/power electronics and to have affinity for hardware design and measurements. You will be working with colleagues on new applications and are expected to be able to communicate clearly and professionally both internally and externally to customers and/or suppliers. After a learning period, you should be able to answer customer questions and support customers with their implementation.

  • Implementation and testing of new application ideas
  • Simulations of new applications / modelling of relevant parameters
  • PCB design/ordering/bring up
  • Validating designs with measurements
  • Optimalization of amplifier designs on e.g. idle noise/THD/efficiency/stability
  • Calls/visits to customers
  • Automating measurement setups

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
  • Knowledge of analog circuit design and simulations
  • Basic knowledge of digital filters and signal processing
  • Basic knowledge of control theory
  • Practical skills like soldering/rework are nice to have
  • PCB design experience (Altium) is a nice to have
